Surah Al-Fatihah (fazilot) in Arabic, along with its English translation and the meaning of virtue.
Surah al- fatihah fazilat: Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) narrated that he said, Fatiha-tul-Kitab (Surah Al-Fatihah) was granted to him by Allah Ta’ala from beneath His Throne. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) also described this Surah as “Ummul Quran”, meaning the essence or foundation of the Quran.
Hazrat Jibreel (AS) informed the Messenger of Allah (SAW) that Allah had gifted him two special lights, which had not been given to any prophet before him. These two lights are:
1. Surah Al-Fatihah
Surah Al-Fatihah is recited in every unit (Rakah) of the prayer (Salah), and for this reason, it is called “Suratul Salah”, meaning “The Chapter of Prayer.”If a person recites a Surah 125 times after the Fard (obligatory) prayer, their heartfelt desires will be fulfilled.
Translation:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.
The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Master of the Day of Judgment.
You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.
Guide us on the Straight Path,
the path of those who have received Your grace;
not the path of those who have brought down wrath upon themselves, nor of those who have gone astray.
