Surah Al-Fath Ayat 6 (48:6) in Arabic, Transliteration, Translation, and Tafsir
1. Arabic:
2. Transliteration:
Wa yu’azzibal munaafiqeena wal munaafiqaati wal mushrikeena wal mushrikaati az-zaannina billaahi zannas saw’; ‘alaihim daaa’iratus saw’; wa ghadibal laahu ‘alaihim wa la’anahum wa a’adda lahum jahannama wa saaa’at maseeraa
3. Translation:
“And [that] He may punish the hypocrite men and hypocrite women, and the polytheist men and polytheist women—those who assume about Allah an assumption of evil. Upon them is a misfortune of evil nature, and Allah has become angry with them, and has cursed them, and prepared for them Hell, and evil it is as a destination.” (Surah Al-Fath 48:6)
4. Tafsir (Explanation)
This verse contrasts with the previous one (48:5), where Allah describes the reward for the believers. Here, Allah speaks of the punishment for the hypocrites and disbelievers.
1. Punishment for Hypocrites and Polytheists:
The hypocrites (منافقين) and idolaters (مشركين) are mentioned separately, indicating that both groups are guilty of different forms of disbelief and rejection of faith.
Hypocrites pretend to be believers but harbor doubt and disbelief in their hearts.
Polytheists openly associate partners with Allah, rejecting the concept of pure monotheism (Tawheed).
2. Their False Assumptions About Allah:
These people think wrongly of Allah, assuming He will not support the believers or fulfill His promises.
Their disbelief and doubt lead them to misjudge Allah’s wisdom, justice, and power.
3. Severe Consequences:
“Upon them is a misfortune of evil nature”: This means they will suffer disgrace in this world and the Hereafter.
“Allah’s wrath and curse”: They are deprived of His mercy and are condemned for their actions.
“Hell as their destination”: The final punishment for their hypocrisy and disbelief is eternal torment in Hell, a place of ultimate suffering.
